Two colleges i.e, Jaisoorya Homoeo Medical College established by Dr. N.Krishna Rao and Potti Sreeramulu Homoeo Medical College established by Sri Moturi Hanumantha Rao were started in 1967 under separate private managements. These colleges were run for 6 years and awarded DHMS to the students. Then both colleges were taken over by the government in 1972 and were merged later in 1979. The two colleges so merged were named as Dr. Jaisoorya Potti Sreeramulu Government Homeopathic Medical College.

From 1967 to 1978 Diploma courses were conducted under the Board of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy. In 1979, the Degree Course i.e., M.B.S (Homoeo) was started with affiliation to Osmania University. From 1986 onwards, the college was affiliated to Dr. N.T.R. University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada by a legislation of Government of Andhra Pradesh Medical Science Act. Post bifurcation, college is now affiliated to K.N.R. University of Health Sciences, Warangal. This is the only Govt. Homeopathic Medical College in the entire Telangana State.

The College is situated in sprawling 5 acres of land which was allotted by Osmania University under a lease agreement, built during the year 1985-86 and academic classes started in the year 1987.College has a Landscape in front giving a pleasant look,with a Hahnemann Statue which has become center of attraction for many including Alumni of this college.
