King George’s Medical University, Lucknow (KGMU) was founded in 1905 and established & started in 1911. In 1921, the College along with the Hospital was incorporated in the Lucknow University. In 2002, the institution was declared as Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Medical University and then later named as K.G. Medical University. The University has 75 academic departments. KGMU courses include MBBS, B.Sc Nursing, BDS, MHA, MD, MS, Diploma, DM, M.Ch and MDS programmes.

Clubs, Committees and Societies:

• Website Committee– This Committee develops, handles and manages the official website of the University. All the duties related to the website of the University are handled by this committee.
• Quality Assurance Unit– This Committee works for ensuring that the quality of services offered by KGMU are appropriate. It works for maintaining the quality offered and fix any shortcomings in the quality.
• Grievance Redressal Cell– This Cell works for addressing and resolving the grievances faced by the students of the King George’s Medical University, Lucknow. Students can register the record of grievances faced by them on a portal and this committee takes care of it.
• Information Technology Cell– This Cell maintains the record and fixes any shortages in the field of information technology in King George’s Medical University. All the information technology infrastructure are maintained by this Cell.
• Women Harassment Prevention Committee– This Committee works for preventing any cases of women harassment in King George’s Medical University, Lucknow. It spreads awareness of consequences of involving in women harassment and takes strict actions against those found guilty.
• Alumni Cell– This Cell is responsible for all the duties related to the alumni of the University. Duties like organising alumni meets, updating alumni records, getting in touch with the alumni etc. all are handled by this cell.
