All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bhubaneshwar was established by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on 16th July 2012. It offers MBBS, B.Sc. Nursing Hons, MD Anatomy, MD Physiology, MD Biochemistry, M.Ch. Pediatric Surgery DM Clinical Hematology, DM Cardiology, MS General Surgery, among various other options. The foundation stone of the institute was laid by the then Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The institute is ranked 39 in the medical category and is an institute of national importance. The campus prides itself in its size of 100 acres, with more than 1000 student enrollments supported by 200 faculty members.
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences is located in Sijau, Pattrapada, Odisha, and forms an part of the city of Bhubaneswar. The closest railway station is the Bhubaneshwar Railway station, which is 14.5 km away. So, students can reach the campus in about 25 minutes after reaching the Railway Station. The nearest airport, the Biju Patnaik International Airport, is about 10.3 km away, and the students can reach the campus in about 20 minutes after reaching the airport.

The institute offers its students a lot of facilities to ease their stay on the campus. The AIIMS Bhubaneshwar campus is huge, with spacious classrooms and well-equipped laboratories.
Hostel facilities: AIIMS Bhubaneswar provides hostel facilities for both girls and boys. There are 132 rooms for women and 260 rooms for men. The hostel also comes with a common room that has all the necessary facilities for the students to spend time together. Additionally, the hostels also have a great Wi-Fi facility throughout the hostels. The hostel also comes with a mess facility that provides students with fresh, healthy, and nutritious meals three times a day.
Library facilities: The AIIMS Bhubaneswar central library was established on 3rd October 2012 and has about 7200 books along with 360 CDs, DVDs, magazines, journals, and newspapers. The library has facilities like photocopying, scanning; printing is also available. It also comes with a reading room section wherein students can sit and read their favorite books. The library stays open from 9 AM to 9 PM on all weekdays and from 9 AM to 4 PM on Saturdays.
Auditorium: The institute has a spacious and well-equipped auditorium. It can seat about 1000 people and therefore serves as the place for conducting all events and seminars. Additionally, it is also equipped with all audiovisual tools.
Sports facilities: The university also provides sports and cultural activities. TORSADES is a three-day event held by the institute in which students can participate and be a part of a variety of events like writing, music, debate, sports events, fashion show, among others.

● The student will first have to appear for the NEET UG exam conducted by the NTA and need to have a valid score in the exam.
● Qualified candidates have to register for counseling of AIIMS on its official website and need to choose AIIMS Bhubaneswar as their institute of preference.
● After the counseling process, the student can confirm his seat by verification of documents and payment of fees.
● The students must apply for the AIIMS entrance and qualify for the same.
● Then they must register for admission on the official website of AIIMS
● They will then go through counseling and can secure their seat by verification of documents and payment of fees.
● To admit to the MD course, students must enroll for the AIIMS PG examination and have to qualify for the same.
● Then they must enroll in counseling.
● Once the student completes the counseling, he can secure his seat by payment of fees and verification of documents.
To help the students with weak financial backgrounds and some financial assistance, AIIMS Bhubaneswar also provides scholarships and fellowships to the students. Generally, the fees of the institute are too low and are largely affordable for many people. But if students apply for scholarships, they can get scholarships under schemes like post-matric scholarship, post-doctoral fellowship, Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship, among various others. The university also provides many awards to the meritorious students.
The students that pass out from AIIMS Bhubaneswar get placed within it as well. Generally, medical colleges do not have placements, as in the case of other colleges. The students who qualify from the college are doctors and can be placed anywhere. They are generally hired by the government, but time and again, they also get hired in private hospitals, including top names like Apollo, Fortis, etc.; the salary will henceforth depend on the hospital that the doctor gets hired in or the post. Some students also go on to open their hospitals and become established themselves.
