All India Institute of Medical Sciences Rishikesh was established in the year 2012 by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY). PMSSY is establishing the medical institute with the aim of minimising the regional imbalances in the availability of affordable and reliable tertiary healthcare services and increasing the facilities which promote and provide medical education and research in underserved areas of the country. AIIMS Rishikesh offers undergraduate, postgraduate and post-doctoral certificate courses to the students. All India Institute of Medical Sciences Rishikesh is located at Virbhadra Road Shivaji Nagar, near Barrage, Sturida Colony, Rishikesh in Uttarakhand. Rishikesh Railway Station is around 3 km away from the institute. Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun is approx 20 km away from the college and GMO Bus Depot is around 5 km away from AIIMS Rishikesh. Candidates can hire a taxi or take an auto-rickshaw to reach the institution.
