Konkan Education Society was establish in the year 1917 with the aim of providing the educational facilities to the people of Konkan region. It was specially armed at developing all kinds of educational institutes not only in urban areas but in the remote villages too. It has served its purpose and has grown into the big educational centres having 21 Primary Schools, 7 Sr. Colleges of Arts, Commerece & Science and Professional Colleges like 2 Medical Colleges.
