NEET UG Counselling 2024 Stages

Registration and Choice filling:- Candidates who have qualified the NEET exam 2024 need to register for NEET counselling on the official counseling website(MCC for AIQ seats or respective state authorities for state quota seats. During registration, candidates provide their personal details and preferences for colleges and courses. Candidates are required to pay the counselling fee as per the guidelines provided by the counselling committee.

Course locking and submission:- After registration, candidates can check the list of colleges and courses and submit their choices. Depending on their NEET rank and the college cut-off rank, candidates can prioritize their preferred options and submit the choices within the allotted time period.

Mock Seat Allotment:- The authority organizes a seat allotment process for the candidates to give them an idea of the allocation outcome potentials. It is beneficial as the candidates can gauge their chances and make their decisions before the final seat allotment.

Final Seat Allotment:- Depending on the choices made by the candidate and their NEET score, the counselling committee conducts the allotment of seats. The allotment is done based on the candidate’s college preference and the availability of seats.

Reporting to college:- Once the seats are allocated, the students are required to report to their respective colleges within the given time. This further leads to completion of admission formalities by the candidate, document verification and admission fees payment.

Second round of counselling:- If required and in case the seats remain vacant after the first round of NEET counselling, a second round will be conducted. This helps the candidates who also participated in the first round to participate in the second round and update their choices if needed.

Mop-up Round:- A mop-up is conducted to fill the remaining seats after the second round of NEET counseling. It is mostly conducted for vacant or reverted seats from the All India Quota(AIQ).

Stray Vacancy:- If any seats still remain vacant after the mop-up round, stray vacancy rounds might be conducted at individual colleges to fill the vacancies.
