Course duration : It is a three-year post graduation course.

 

Course content :

  • It is an advanced and progressive branch of Medical Science.
  • It is mainly concerned with the skin and diseases of the hair, nails, and mucous membranes of the human body. A dermatologist provides support for cosmetic issues.
  • Moreover, it is also an interesting and experience-based branch.
  • It deals with advanced skin- related diseases like Eczema, Rosacea, Psoriasis, Hair transplant, etc.
  • A Dermatologist follows the visualized method of diagnosis. Therefore, most of the skin problems might appear the same, nevertheless, a Dermatologist can identify them with just a glimpse.
  • Apart from that MD Dermatology Course is Technologically advanced as ample machines are used to cure skin diseases.

Listed here are some of the primary objectives of the course :

  • To diagnose and manage common skin diseases, sexually transmitted diseases and leprosy.
  • To manage efficiently all medical emergencies related with skin, leprosy and venereal disease.
  • To adopt preventive measures at individual and community levels against communicable and venereal diseases and leprosy.
  • To teach requisite knowledge and laboratory skills to other medical/ paramedical team members.
  • To adopt a compassionate attitude towards patients (and their families) under the one’s charge.
  • To evaluate and initiate investigation for solving problems relating to skin and venereal diseases and leprosy.
  • Pursuing Dermatology courses trains students in handling the complexity of the disease and the right kind of treatment for the particular disease.
  • If you imagine yourself in this role, the following is the set of duties you will be responsible for:
  • Performing cosmetic surgeries to alter the scars.
  • Diagnosing and treating various skin-related problems like moles, skin tumour, melanoma, etc.
  • Treating patients with problems of hair loss, scars and various other skin-related problems.
  • Training patients about skin and hair hygiene.
