MD Obstetrics & Gynecology

Course duration : It is a three-year post graduation course.

 

Course content :

  • It deals with two surgical medical specialities. One is Obstetrics and the second is gynaecology.
  • It provides a range of services, including routine medical exams, prenatal care, ultrasounds, and family planning advice, diagnosing and treating various reproductive health issues.
  • The course includes a comprehensive, advanced study of the entire clinical pathology associated with the female reproductive organs, and provision of care to both non-pregnant and pregnant patients.

The course includes major components of study such as :

  • Obstetrics Pathology, Gynaecological Pathology, Operative Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Medical and Surgical Diseases, Complication in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Social Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Abnormal Pregnancies, Common Disorders and Systemic Diseases associated with pregnancy.
  • Common Obstetrical Operations, Infant Care, Neonatal hygiene, Breast feeding.
  • Artificial feeding, Management of premature child, Asphyxia, Birth injuries,Common Disorders of New-born babies etc.
  • General diseases in infants, and Labor complications.
  • Research-based study of clinical and surgical training in gynaecology.

Skills required to be an MD Obstetrics and Gynecology specialist :
