If you are a doctor planning MD, MS, PG Diploma or DNB in Rajasthan this year, this is the page to read end to end. Rajasthan NEET PG Counselling 2026 is the state-level admission process for seats in Rajasthan's government and private medical colleges under the state's 50% quota. It is run by the NEET PG Admission/Counselling Board at SMS Medical College, Jaipur. After the NEET PG 2026 result, the board opens registration, choice filling, seat allotment and document verification, and every seat is decided by merit, eligibility and reservation rules.
Here we cover the schedule, registration steps, eligibility, cut-offs, seat pool, college-wise private fees, documents, NRI quota and the questions students ask us most. For the national picture and the MCC schedule, start with our main guide to NEET PG Counselling 2026. If you still need to decide your branch, read our MD/MS branches guide.
Quick answer: Rajasthan fills its state-quota MD, MS, PG Diploma and DNB (post-MBBS) seats through a centralised, round-wise online counselling run from SMS Medical College, Jaipur. You register on the official state portal, fill and lock choices, get an allotment, and report to the college with original documents. Exact dates, seats and fees are notified round by round, so the sections below show the expected pattern based on earlier sessions.
Need personal help? Call +91 99141 48080 or message us on WhatsApp. You can also book a free PG counselling session.
The table below shows the expected 2026 timeline. Treat every date as tentative until the board publishes its official notice. We update this page whenever a new notice is released.
| Stage / Event | Expected timeline |
|---|---|
| NEET PG 2026 exam | 30 August 2026 |
| Internship completion cut-off date | 30 September 2026 |
| NEET PG 2026 result | Mid to late September 2026 |
| MCC AIQ Round 1 counselling | October 2026 |
| Rajasthan notification and Round 1 registration | Late October to early November 2026 |
| Round 1 choice filling, allotment and reporting | November 2026 |
| Round 2 counselling and seat allotment | December 2026 |
| Round 3 / mop-up round | January 2027 |
| Online stray vacancy round | February 2027 |
Our advice: The state registration window often opens right after MCC Round 1 results. If you are waiting on an All India Quota seat, keep an eye on both calendars so you do not miss the Rajasthan deadline.
Rajasthan runs a single, centralised PG medical counselling. The NEET PG Admission/Counselling Board, under the Chairman of SMS Medical College, Jaipur, handles it on behalf of the Medical Education Department. The board prepares the merit list, publishes the seat matrix, runs every round and supervises verification and admission for MD, MS, PG Diploma and post-MBBS DNB courses. MDS (dental) counselling is notified separately; see our MDS admission page for that.
The structure has stayed almost the same over the last few years, even though exact dates move from session to session. Broadly, it looks like this:
Before you register, check that you meet the baseline conditions:
For the 50% state quota, you must also satisfy Rajasthan's own rules. Candidates with an MBBS from Rajasthan, or with a Rajasthan domicile and an MBBS from outside the state, may qualify under specific conditions. Reserved-category candidates need valid caste, EWS or PwD certificates in the required format. Because these clauses change slightly each year, always read the current brochure.
Candidates admitted under the state quota also sign a service/security bond when accepting a seat. Learn how bonds work before you lock choices in our guide to the MD/MS service bond in India 2026.
Applying in other states as well? Domicile and eligibility rules differ everywhere, so check each one carefully. For example, see our update on MP NEET PG counselling 2026.
The cut-off tells you whether you are eligible to join counselling. It does not guarantee a seat, because your state rank decides that.
| Category | Qualifying percentile | Expected cut-off score |
|---|---|---|
| General | 50th percentile | 262 |
| EWS | 50th percentile | 262 |
| OBC | 40th percentile | 226 |
| SC | 40th percentile | 226 |
| ST | 40th percentile | 226 |
| General PwD | 45th percentile | 244 |
The seat matrix lists the MD/MS and PG Diploma seats in government, private and management quota colleges. It is the most important document to study before choice filling. The table shows approximate seats for each college group; the final matrix is published by the board for every session.

Altogether, Rajasthan's government and private colleges offer about 1,024 MD/MS and PG Diploma seats under the state quota each year. The exact number is confirmed only when the official seat matrix comes out. Want to see the other deemed options? Check the deemed university seat matrix 2026 and the AIIMS seat matrix 2026.
State quota seats go to candidates who meet Rajasthan's domicile and MBBS conditions. Selection is based on the state merit list prepared from NEET PG scores. A good rank is the real key, so it helps to understand how marks and ranks work; see the NEET PG guide on our site for preparation and exam information.
| Aspect | All India Quota (AIQ) | Rajasthan state quota |
|---|---|---|
| Seats covered | 50% of government college seats nationwide | Remaining government seats plus most private and semi-government seats |
| Counselling body | Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) | Rajasthan NEET PG Counselling Board (SMS Medical College, Jaipur) |
| Eligibility | Any NEET PG-qualified candidate | Rajasthan eligibility and domicile rules for most seats |
| Registration portal | MCC portal (national) | State portal (changes by session) |
You can take part in both. But each has its own seat acceptance, resignation and reporting rules, and accepting a seat in one may limit your options in the other. Read the brochure before locking any choice.
Fees for private medical colleges differ by college, branch and quota. Under the state quota, annual tuition for MD/MS typically runs from about ₹3.6 lakh to ₹1.25 crore, and management and NRI seats usually cost a lot more. The tables below list state-quota and management-quota tuition per year for each college, followed by hostel charges. A dash means no figure is listed for that seat type. Fees can change in every session, so confirm them with each college's prospectus before choice filling.
For a wider comparison across India, see our MD/MS fees, stipend and bond 2026 page and the deemed university fees 2026.

How to read these fees: a seat in a non-clinical branch such as Anatomy or Physiology costs very little in several colleges, while Radiodiagnosis, Dermatology and Obstetrics & Gynaecology are the most expensive. Add hostel charges, any bond and your expected stipend before you decide whether a private seat makes financial sense.
These are the institutions students ask about most when they plan their Rajasthan PG choice list:

NRI quota seats form a small pool, usually in private and deemed colleges, for Non-Resident Indians or their sponsored dependents. Keep these points in mind:
Because the paperwork is stricter, start collecting sponsor affidavits and notarised documents well before the registration window. Read more on our NRI quota admission page.
Carry originals and photocopies. Verification is done against originals, and photocopies stay with the institute. The standard checklist:
A single missing document at reporting can lead to cancellation of your seat. Put everything in one sorted folder well before your reporting date.

Usually five stages: Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, a mop-up round and a final stray vacancy round. The board can change the number and names depending on seat availability.
