Seats in private colleges, and NRI or management quota seats, carry no service bond. Read the latest DME notification for the exact terms before you lock your choices.

Choice Filling Strategy for MP NEET PG Counselling 2026

Build your choice list around your state rank, not around the college names you like most. Top-rank candidates can lead with leading government colleges and branches, while mid and low-rank candidates should balance branch and college.

  • List by speciality first, then college. This stops random choices from landing you a seat you do not want.
  • Compare bonds and fees. Each college has its own conditions, so weigh its reputation against the service bond and costs.
  • Use the seat matrix. If you qualify for both state and All India counselling, check seat numbers and competition before you spread your choices across both.
  • Stay in until the last round. Seats often open up in later rounds, especially the Mop-Up Round, so do not drop out early.
  • Review before you lock. Locked choices cannot be edited, and one wrong entry can cost you a preferred seat.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Most lost seats come from missed deadlines and document errors, not from low ranks.

  • Missing a deadline. If you do not finish registration or choice filling in time, you are out of that round.
  • Document mismatches. Errors in your domicile, internship or category certificate can lead to disqualification. Check originals and photocopies in advance.
  • A careless choice list. Research colleges and branches, and rank them by what you actually want.
  • Trusting unofficial sources. Rely on DME notifications and the official portal.
  • Giving up after one round. Seats are added in later rounds, so stay in the process.
  • Ignoring college conditions. Fees and service bonds differ by college, so read them before you choose.
