Rajasthan NEET PG Counselling 2026: Dates, Registration, Eligibility, Seat Matrix, Fees & Complete Process

Last updated: 23 October 2026 | Prepared by the Shiksha Med PG Counselling Team, Chandigarh

If you are a doctor planning MD, MS, PG Diploma or DNB in Rajasthan this year, this is the page to read end to end. Rajasthan NEET PG Counselling 2026 is the state-level admission process for seats in Rajasthan's government and private medical colleges under the state's 50% quota. It is run by the NEET PG Admission/Counselling Board at SMS Medical College, Jaipur. After the NEET PG 2026 result, the board opens registration, choice filling, seat allotment and document verification, and every seat is decided by merit, eligibility and reservation rules.

Here we cover the schedule, registration steps, eligibility, cut-offs, seat pool, college-wise private fees, documents, NRI quota and the questions students ask us most. For the national picture and the MCC schedule, start with our main guide to NEET PG Counselling 2026. If you still need to decide your branch, read our MD/MS branches guide.

Quick answer: Rajasthan fills its state-quota MD, MS, PG Diploma and DNB (post-MBBS) seats through a centralised, round-wise online counselling run from SMS Medical College, Jaipur. You register on the official state portal, fill and lock choices, get an allotment, and report to the college with original documents. Exact dates, seats and fees are notified round by round, so the sections below show the expected pattern based on earlier sessions.

Rajasthan NEET PG Counselling 2026: Important Dates

The table below shows the expected 2026 timeline. Treat every date as tentative until the board publishes its official notice. We update this page whenever a new notice is released.

Stage / EventExpected timeline

Internship completion cut-off date30 September 2026
NEET PG 2026 resultMid to late September 2026

Round 2 counselling and seat allotmentDecember 2026

Our advice: The state registration window often opens right after MCC Round 1 results. If you are waiting on an All India Quota seat, keep an eye on both calendars so you do not miss the Rajasthan deadline.

Who Conducts Rajasthan NEET PG Counselling 2026?

Rajasthan runs a single, centralised PG medical counselling. The NEET PG Admission/Counselling Board, under the Chairman of SMS Medical College, Jaipur, handles it on behalf of the Medical Education Department. The board prepares the merit list, publishes the seat matrix, runs every round and supervises verification and admission for MD, MS, PG Diploma and post-MBBS DNB courses. MDS (dental) counselling is notified separately; see our MDS admission page for that.

Rajasthan NEET PG Counselling Process 2026

The structure has stayed almost the same over the last few years, even though exact dates move from session to session. Broadly, it looks like this:

  1. Notification: the board releases the information brochure, eligibility rules and schedule.
  2. Registration and fee payment: candidates register online and pay the registration fee and security deposit.
  3. Document upload and verification: certificates are uploaded and checked.
  4. Merit list: a provisional list is shown, corrections are allowed, then the final list is published.
  5. Seat matrix: available seats, branch by branch and college by college, are published.
  6. Choice filling and locking: you fill your preferences and lock them before the deadline.
  7. Seat allotment: the result shows the best choice you qualify for.
  8. Reporting: you pay fees and report to the allotted college with originals.
  9. Later rounds: Round 2, Round 3, mop-up and stray vacancy fill whatever is left.

Rajasthan NEET PG Counselling 2026: Registration Steps

  1. Open the official counselling portal and go to the registration page. Our PG counselling team shares the verified link when the board announces it.
  2. Register with your NEET PG credentials and create a login ID and password.
  3. Fill in the application with your personal, academic, internship and NEET PG details.
  4. Upload your photograph, signature and supporting certificates in the prescribed format.
  5. Pay the counselling registration fee online.
  6. Recheck every detail. Mistakes in name, category or domicile are hard to correct later.
  7. Submit the form and download the confirmation page for your records.

Eligibility Criteria for Rajasthan PG Medical Counselling

Before you register, check that you meet the baseline conditions:

  • A valid, qualifying NEET PG score for the current academic year.
  • An MBBS degree recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
  • Compulsory rotating internship completed by the date given in the schedule.
  • Permanent registration with the Rajasthan Medical Council or another state/national medical council.

For the 50% state quota, you must also satisfy Rajasthan's own rules. Candidates with an MBBS from Rajasthan, or with a Rajasthan domicile and an MBBS from outside the state, may qualify under specific conditions. Reserved-category candidates need valid caste, EWS or PwD certificates in the required format. Because these clauses change slightly each year, always read the current brochure.

Candidates admitted under the state quota also sign a service/security bond when accepting a seat. Learn how bonds work before you lock choices in our guide to the MD/MS service bond in India 2026.

Applying in other states as well? Domicile and eligibility rules differ everywhere, so check each one carefully. For example, see our update on MP NEET PG counselling 2026.

NEET PG Cutoff 2026: Category-wise Qualifying Marks

The cut-off tells you whether you are eligible to join counselling. It does not guarantee a seat, because your state rank decides that.

Rajasthan NEET PG Counselling Seat Matrix

The seat matrix lists the MD/MS and PG Diploma seats in government, private and management quota colleges. It is the most important document to study before choice filling. The table shows approximate seats for each college group; the final matrix is published by the board for every session.

Rajasthan NEET PG Counselling for State Quota Seats

State quota seats go to candidates who meet Rajasthan's domicile and MBBS conditions. Selection is based on the state merit list prepared from NEET PG scores. A good rank is the real key, so it helps to understand how marks and ranks work; see the NEET PG guide on our site for preparation and exam information.

All India Quota vs Rajasthan State Quota

  • All India Quota (AIQ): covers 50% of government college seats across the country. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) counsels it centrally, any NEET PG-qualified candidate can compete, and registration is on the MCC portal.
  • Rajasthan state quota: covers the remaining seats in Rajasthan's government colleges, plus most seats in private and semi-government institutes within the state. Only candidates who meet Rajasthan's own eligibility rules can compete, and registration is only on the state portal.

You can take part in both. But each has its own seat acceptance, resignation and reporting rules, and accepting a seat in one may limit your options in the other. Read the brochure before locking any choice.

Rajasthan NEET PG Private Medical College Fee Structure 2026

Fees for private medical colleges differ by college, branch and quota. Under the state quota, annual tuition for MD/MS typically runs from about ₹3.6 lakh to ₹1.25 crore, and management and NRI seats usually cost a lot more. The tables below list state-quota and management-quota tuition per year for each college, followed by hostel charges. A dash means no figure is listed for that seat type. Fees can change in every session, so confirm them with each college's prospectus before choice filling.

For a wider comparison across India, see our MD/MS fees, stipend and bond 2026 page and the deemed university fees 2026.

How to read these fees: a seat in a non-clinical branch such as Anatomy or Physiology costs very little in several colleges, while Radiodiagnosis, Dermatology and Obstetrics & Gynaecology are the most expensive. Add hostel charges, any bond and your expected stipend before you decide whether a private seat makes financial sense.

NRI Quota Admission for Rajasthan NEET PG

NRI quota seats form a small pool, usually in private and deemed colleges, for Non-Resident Indians or their sponsored dependents. Keep these points in mind:

  • You still need a valid, qualifying NEET PG score. NRI status does not waive the entrance exam.
  • Sponsorship papers are compulsory: an affidavit from the NRI sponsor, proof of relationship, and the sponsor's NRI status documents such as passport, visa or work permit.
  • NRI quota fees are usually much higher than state or management quota fees and are often charged in foreign-currency-linked terms, as the college specifies.
  • Registration happens through the same official counselling process, under a separate NRI category.

Because the paperwork is stricter, start collecting sponsor affidavits and notarised documents well before the registration window. Read more on our NRI quota admission page.

Documents Required for Rajasthan NEET PG Counselling

Carry originals and photocopies. Verification is done against originals, and photocopies stay with the institute. The standard checklist:

  • NEET PG admit card and final scorecard / rank letter
  • MBBS degree certificate (provisional if the final one is not issued) and MBBS mark sheets
  • Internship completion certificate
  • Permanent or provisional Medical Council registration certificate
  • Rajasthan domicile certificate, where applicable to your seat category
  • Category certificate (SC / ST / OBC / MBC / EWS / PwD) in the current prescribed format, if you claim reservation
  • Government photo ID such as Aadhaar or passport
  • Passport-size photographs in the specified format
  • NRI sponsorship affidavit and supporting documents (NRI quota only)
  • Counselling registration fee and security deposit receipts

A single missing document at reporting can lead to cancellation of your seat. Put everything in one sorted folder well before your reporting date.

Choice-Filling Tips From Our Counsellors

  1. Fill many choices. A long list protects you from getting no seat in a round.
  2. Order by real preference. The system gives you the highest-ranked choice you qualify for, so never place a seat you do not want above one you do.
  3. Decide branch versus college first. A strong branch in a modest college and a modest branch in a strong college lead to different careers.
  4. Calculate the full cost of private seats: tuition, hostel, bond and stipend together.
  5. Study last year's closing ranks for the same category and branch.
  6. Do not skip reporting. A missed reporting date can mean a lost seat and a lost deposit.
  7. Keep other options open. Compare with DNB seats in India 2026 and see our note on MD vs DNB General Medicine if you are undecided.

FAQs for Rajasthan NEET PG Counselling 2026

What is the official website for Rajasthan NEET PG counselling?

The web address changes with each admission session and is announced by the state counselling authority. Use the link given in the official notification from the Rajasthan Medical Education Department, and check the official notices for registration, schedule, merit list, seat matrix, choice filling and allotment updates. Our team shares the verified link as soon as it is live.

Who conducts Rajasthan NEET PG state counselling?

The NEET PG Admission/Counselling Board under the Chairman, SMS Medical College, Jaipur, conducts counselling for MD/MS, PG Diploma and post-MBBS DNB seats.

Is domicile compulsory for Rajasthan state quota seats?

For most state quota seats you must meet Rajasthan's domicile and MBBS conditions. Some seat categories have specific exceptions, so read the current year's eligibility clause carefully.

How many rounds does Rajasthan NEET PG counselling have?

Usually five stages: Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, a mop-up round and a final stray vacancy round. The board can change the number and names depending on seat availability.

Can I take part in both AIQ and Rajasthan state counselling?

Yes, but accepting a seat in one process may restrict further participation in the other. Check the seat acceptance and resignation rules before you lock a choice.

What happens if I do not report after seat allotment?

The seat is forfeited and returns to the vacancy pool for the next round. Depending on the round and category, your security deposit may also be forfeited.

Are management and NRI quota seats allotted through the same portal?

Yes. Both go through the same centralised counselling process, but they are evaluated as separate seat pools with different fee structures.

Is there one last date for registration?

No. Registration and choice-filling windows are announced separately for each round, so follow the official schedule for exact dates instead of relying on a single deadline.

How many MD/MS and PG Diploma seats does Rajasthan offer?

About 1,024 seats under the state quota across government and private colleges. The exact figure is confirmed when the official seat matrix is released.

What is the fee range for MD/MS in Rajasthan private colleges?

Roughly ₹3.6 lakh to ₹1.25 crore under the state quota depending on college, branch and category. Management and NRI quota fees are usually higher.
